Robert Lynn Clovis May 14, 1950 - Dec. 28, 2016 Salinas Robert "Bob" Lynn Clovis was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Ernest and Martha (Carmen) Clovis. Bob's childhood was spent in Maryland. His family moved to the Monterey Peninsula in the 1960s where Bob attended Seaside and Carmel High Schools. After graduation he attended Fresno State and earned a B.S. in Zoology. Bob and first wife Barbara moved to Oregon where Bob framed homes near Sisters. They moved back to Monterey County and Bob joined the Monterey County Parks Department in 1974 as a Park Ranger. He built San Lorenzo Park in King City from the ground-up and always considered this the crowning achievement of his career. In 1988 Bob was promoted to managing the Laguna Seca Recreation Area. Bob later worked as Facilities Manager for the Monterey Peninsula Country Club for another ten years until he retired for good.
