In memory of
Robert W. Charles, 76 of Greentown, PA, formerly of Allentown and Whitehall, PA, died on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Twp., PA. Born July 23, 1940 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William and Lillian (DeLong) Charles. He was the loving husband of Barbara Wechsler Charles for over 55 years. He was employed by the Morning Call as a composer for over 41 years until retiring in 1997. He was the first employee who became a member of the Super Club which was designated for management. He also worked as a self employed painter for over 41 years. Robert enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Survivors: Surviving are his wife, Barbara, daughters, Deborah Dorsey and her companion Charles East of Berwick, PA and Donna Bruder and her husband Glen of Whitehall, PA, sister, Marilyn Paules and her husband Richard of Whitehall, PA; 3 grandchildren, Robert Dorsey and his wife Aubrey of Catasauqua, Taylor Whitney of Orlando, FL, and Carly Whitney of Orlando, FL; 2 great grandchildren, Ella and Alaina Dorsey. Services: A Funeral Serivce will be at 11:00AM on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 at Schisler Funeral Home, Inc. located at 2119 Washington Ave., Northampton, PA 18067 with Pastor Patricia Lee officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown, PA. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Sunday Feb. 19, 2017 and on Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the Funeral Home.
