Robert Burget Robert W. Burget, 79, of Belleville, Ill., born March 22, 1937 in St. Louis, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 while residing at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Collinsville, Ill. Robert retired from Laclede Gas in 2007 after 29 years of employment, and after retirement became an American Red Cross volunteer in the greater St. Louis and Metro-East areas for local blood drives. Robert was a charter member of the St. Louis Tip Toppers, and had served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. Robert and Karen met at a Mega Singles Dance in St. Louis, Mo., in 1993 and were married in 1995 on Valentine's Day at a Mega Wedding with 98 other couples on radio station Y98. Robert loved to travel and they enjoyed numerous trips together cruising through many countries; he loved planning these excursions. He was a kind, generous man with a great sense of humor and always kept us laughing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert V. and Mildred, nee Nattkempfer, Burget of St. Louis, Mo. Surviving are his loving wife of 21 years, Karen, nee Melville, Burget; daughter, Sara Burget (Christopher) Cameron of North Cambria, Pa.; and two grandsons, Trevor and Austin; a stepson, Matthew Moffitt of Swansea, Ill.; his brother, George (Nancy) Burget of Independence, Mo.; 2 nephews, Robert V. (Sarah) Burget and Jeffrey Burget, currently residing in Taiwan; and a niece, Caroline Burget of Tempe, Ariz. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful, dedicated direct-care and nursing staff at Cedarhurst of Collinsville, Ill., for their outstanding loving care and all the additional services the support staff provided; and, Family Hospice staff for their great support to the family with their wonderful understanding, guidance and excellent care. Additionally, we want to thank Dr. Mounir Shenouda for his dedication to Robert's healthcare needs over many years and Dr. Matthew St. Eve for his concern and care of Robert's dental issues during his extended illness.
