Brown, Robert Darrell Robert Darrell Brown passed away at age 81 on November 25, 2016 at Ryan House (Hospice of the Valley) in the loving company of his wife of 31 years and all five of his children. He succumbed to complications related to cancer following a valiant fight with the disease. Robert was born August 31, 1935 in Sandpoint, Idaho to Matthew and Barbara (Kom) Brown, both the children of German immigrants. He became a resident of Oregon with his parents after high school in 1956. He moved to Phoenix in 1975 where he spent most of his remaining 41 years engaged in various business enterprises and providing accounting and business management services to small businesses. Robert loved his work and was engaged with colleagues and clients up to the time of his death. He was energetic, industrious and curious his entire life. World travel, gourmet cooking and gardening are just a few of the many activities he enjoyed. His greatest passion involved spending time with his family and his dogs that he considered part of his family. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Ervin Leroy, younger brother Matthew Thomas "Tom," and former spouse Yvonne (Ward) Brown. His youngest brother, William "Bill," has not been heard from for many years and his status is unknown. Robert will be remembered fondly by those who survive him, including: his wife, Marta Blanco-Brown, Phoenix, AZ; son, Michael, Roseville, CA; daughter, Michelle Bowden, Vancouver, WA; son, Martin, Salem, OR; son, Darrell, Salem, OR; step-daughter, Alexandra León, Miami, FL; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 14, 11 am, at Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 East Lincoln Drive, Scottsdale, AZ.
