Age 89, Beloved Wife for 32 years to the late James Richard Duffy of Upper St. Clair, passed away with family by her side on Monday, February 13, 2017. Rita was born in Cleveland, OH in 1927. She attended St. Augustine Academy in Cleveland and received an Associate Degree from Bowling Green University. In 1963, she moved with her husband to Pittsburgh where she raised her family. Rita's life was her family and church. She was an active parishioner at St. Louise de Marillac Church and served with the Ladies of Charity and the Widows Group. During this time, she also ministered to the spiritual and material needs of those who were ill, elderly, or financially stressed. She was a member of Valley Brook Country Club where she enjoyed golfing with her friends. Rita will be remembered for her kind and loving demeanor and devotion to her family and faith. Loving Mother of Dave (Mary) Duffy, Colleen (Dave) Moore, Terry (Denise) Duffy, Lynne (Greg) Miller, and the late Diane Duffy; Cherished Nana to Brian (Brooke), Dan, and Dean Moore, Kelly and Chris Miller, Anne (Levi) Davis, and John and the late Joe Duffy; Sister of Kay McGorray and the late Bob Bixler. Friends are welcome at Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray (724-941-3211) on Sunday, February 19, from 3-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Louise de Marillac Church, 320 McMurray Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241 on Monday at 10 a.m. followed by a Private Committal Service in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
