Ricky Lee Huggins, born August 16, 1951 in LA County, passed away in Ukiah, CA on December 14, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones. Rick had a passion for motorcycles, cars, adventure, casinos (slot machines), and agriculture. He started his early career as a machinist with his father, after which he honed his craft as a mechanic and logger. Rick came to Mendocino County over 40 years ago and decided to raise his family in Potter Valley. Rick later married Sharon Huggins on November 24, 2001 and the two of them spent their life traveling, gardening, and enjoying one another and their children and grandchildren. His following generations, many would say, were his proudest accomplishment, along with his Harleys. He will be remembered for his humor, huge heart, sparkling blue eyes, his pronounced voice, his love of motorcycles, his mechanical skills, his truly rugged beard, and always being there for anybody at any time, day or night. Rick is survived by his wife Sharon, father Jesse, his kids Jeff, Jennifer, Katie, and Sadie, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as the many other kids and grandkids he took in as his own throughout his life. Services will be held at the Potter Valley United Methodist at 12 P.M. on Saturday January 13, 2017, followed by a memorial across the street from the Potter Valley corner store and bar.
