Richard H. Thomas
LEE – Richard H. Thomas, 61, of Lee, and a longtime resident of Rye, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born October 16, 1955, the son of the late Victor and Juanita Thomas. Richard was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Class of 1973, where he was a trumpet player in the high school band. He was part of the Portsmouth High School Band staff from 1973 to 1985 and gave trumpet lessons. After high school, he participated in the 27th Lancers Drum Corp. Richard was a very successful self-employed real estate appraiser. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends and family, waterskiing, candlepin bowling and riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his wife, Christine Thomas; sons, Chad and Patrick Thomas; daughter, Chelsea Moore and her husband Bud Moore; stepson, Andrew Hardtke; stepdaughter, Paige Hardtke; and granddaughters, Deisha Thomas and Finleigh Moore. SERVICES: A time of visitation will be held from 2-3 p.m., on Saturday, February 18, at the J. Verne Wood Funeral Home-Buckminster Chapel, 84 Broad St., Portsmouth.
