Richard "Dick" Francis Shea April 26, 1929 - October 11, 2016 Wake Forest Richard "Dick" Francis Shea, 87 of Wake Forest, N.C. made his transition to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 11, 2016. He was born April 26, 1929, in Boston, MA, to the late James Edward Shea, Sr and Florence Reynolds Shea. Dick retired after 31 years of dedicated service from the Coca Cola Corporation in Braintree, MA. He was a proud US Marine Corp Veteran. During his retirement he was honored to serve as Honor Guard with The Marine Corps League Detachment #708 in Spring Hill, FL. His other passion was building models of historical American Clipper Ships. Dick and his wife moved to Wake Forest in 2005 to be close to their daughter and granddaughter. The family enjoyed their holidays together and many Sundays cheering on their New England Patriots. His enthusiasm will be greatly missed ~ Dick is survived by; his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley Jean (Bates) Shea of Wake Forest; a daughter, Ellen Marie Dupre' and husband, Scott of Raleigh; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Dupre' and husband, Scott Liddle of Raleigh; Siblings, Rita Jensen of MA, Donald Shea and wife, Marge of RI; Janice Birrittieri and husband Harry of FL, Karen Miller and Kathleen Froio of MA; sisters-in-law, Betty Menzel and husband Bill of MA, Emily Cousins of MA and Sylvia Rupert and husband Rod of FL; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings; Jacqueline Shea, James Shea Jr, Ruth Jensen, William Shea, Robert Shea, Florence Shea, Irene Cadman, Maureen Shea and Kevin Shea. A Private family service was held on October 12, 2016 at Bright Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Wake Forest, NC. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Honor Guard Unit,Marine Corps League Detachment #708, Brooksville, FL 34613.
