Sanczel, Richard , age 84, of Eustis, surrounded by his family, passed away Tuesday at his home. He was born in 1932 in Trenton, New Jersey to Paul and Elizabeth (Schmidt) Sanczel. After growing up in Trenton, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a draftsman and started a family with his first wife Lorraine. Ambitious for more opportunity he moved to Florida with his 3 children in 1959. Over the years his primary career was with Lockheed Martin working on projects from early space satellites to Pershing missiles. In 1970 he met his wife of 45 years, Beverly, and they married soon after. He was a dedicated and loving husband to Beverly. They enjoyed refurbishing houses together and Richard excelled at woodworking, crafting unique furnishings for each of their homes. Without hesitation, Richard opened his heart and home to Beverly and her six young children creating one loving family. He imparted to those nine children his strongest traits of generosity, kindness and boundless love. He had a never ending supply of encouraging words mixed with warm, reassuring hugs, and not just for his own children, but for every person who stepped across the threshold of his door. A man to be truly admired for bringing so much more love into the world than he took out of it. Richard is survived by his wife Beverly Iwaniuk Sanczel, children Susan (Michael) Wedner, Lori (John) Fahey, Paul (Beth) Sanczel, Reina Collins, Elana Dekkers, Robert (Gretchen) Gutman, Marta Hawkins, Andrew (Annie) Gutman, Adam Gutman, 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Service will be held at Harden Funeral Home, 1800 N Donnelly St, Mt Dora on Saturday, October 15th at 1:00 pm.
