In memory of
Richard G. Mendoza
April 22, 1936 - January 6, 2017 Our Savior, Jesus Christ saw that you were tired and decided it was time for you to rest; so he called you home. Mr. Mendoza was born in San Antonio, Texas to Ramon and Herlinda Mendoza. He was a 1954 graduate of Sidney Lanier HS. While working at Friedrich Air Conditioning, he met the former Ms Consuelo (Connie) Aguilar where they would marry on May 5th, 1957. Mr. Mendoza began working at a young age delivering newspapers for the San Antonio Light; became a welder at Friedrich Air Conditioning before beginning his career with the City of San Antonio where he would work for 38 years; retiring in 1995. On his off time, Mr. Mendoza was a self-made craftsman where he was a plumber, electrician, carpenter, painter and auto mechanic. Family, neighbors and friends frequently called him for help where he would unselfishly lend a hand. He enjoyed working in his yard. Through the years, Mr. Mendoza made many friends. He was well love and respected by many. The love and devotion he had for his family always peered through for he always put his wife and children before himself; going without if necessary. He always stressed the importance of family. He volunteered many hours to St. Mary Magdalen CYO where his children participated. In retirement, Mr. Mendoza could be found cheering and supporting his grandchildren at various sporting events. He was always fondly called "grandpa" by all the kids and parents. Mr. Mendoza is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Herlinda Mendoza, Sister; Corine Martinez, Brothers; Henry, Genaro, Oscar, and Gilberto Mendoza and Sister-in-law; Rosa Mendoza.
