Richard K. "Dick" Johnson GALION: Richard Kenneth Johnson, 83, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Altercare of Bucyrus. Born February 19, 1933 in Akron, he was the son of John Chris and Ellen Mae (Snyder) Johnson. Dick attended Lexington Schools and went to work at a young age picking potatoes on a farm where he got the nickname "Queenie." In 1984 he retired from Castle Metals after 25 years as a truck driver. Dick was a member of the Cross Way Assembly of God Church in Galion where he was active in the men's ministry, children's church and drove the church bus. He loved to garden and cook and was always willing to help anyone in need. Dick is survived by two sons, Richard Kris (Amy) Johnson of Galion and Thomas A. Johnson of St. Clairsville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen Mae (Ralph) Palmer of Glendale, Arizona and Joan (Bob) Wilfing of Galion; three sisters-in-law, Eleanor Johnson of Glendale, Arizona, Marie Johnson and Marilyn Johnson, both of Galion; ten grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and former wife Janet K. Johnson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his children, Catherine F. Morgan, Richard Alan "Rick" Johnson, Mark T. Johnson and Daniel C. Johnson; granddaughter Tina F. Morgan and brothers Arthur "Gene" Haldeman, Lowell Haldeman and Martin, Paul, Bob, John and Homer Johnson. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19 with Rev. Jim Randas officiating. Interment will be at Shauck Cemetery in Johnsville. Memorial contributions may be made to Altercare of Bucyrus Patient Fund in care of the funeral home.
