GEORGE RICHARD D. Age 91, died 25 January 2017 in Yorba Linda, California. Born 12 December 1925 in Redford, Michigan, to Richard and Evelyn (Lozo) George, he grew up attending schools in Detroit, MI., before enlisting in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Upon returning from active duty, he courted the love of his life, B. Evelyn Bowman and they married 17 January 1948. Richard was recalled into the Air Force to serve during the Korean War and the Air Force became his career for 27 years. He served as a Master Navigator, Radar Bombardier and Director of Intelligence, and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1970. Richard continued to further his education, graduating from Chapman University in 1970, and began a second career as owner of Artech Signs, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and oil painting. Richard was pre-deceased by his wife, parents, brother Lloyd George, and sister Doris Tances. He leaves behind four children: Linda (Wayne) Barber, Deborah (John) Barber, Richard K. (Deborah) George and David (Elizabeth) George; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Leroux and Donna Moore, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. A Service will be held at 10 a.m., February 17, 2017 at St Catherine of Alexandria, 7005 Brockton Ave, Riverside. Interment will be in Riverside National Cemetery.
