Richard J. Geisenheyner
Richard J. Geisenheyner 88, of Sheldon, passed away February 10, 2017 at Heritage Healthcare of Hoopeston, IL. He was born July 19, 1928 in St. Paul, MN to the late Hans and Helen (Brewer) Geisenheyner. He attended Harding High School. Richard served in the U.S. Merchant Marines, U.S. Army, and U.S. Air Force during WWII and the Korean War from 1944-1954. His Marriage was to Mary M. Finnegan on May 27, 1957 in St. Teresa Catholic Church of Mapleton, MN. She survives. He was a member of the Teamsters, Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization, and Meat Packers Union. Richard had a successful career as an Air Traffic Control Specialist and supervisor. He worked in Chicago, IL at Midway and O'Hare Airports, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, D.C from 1958-1994. Richard enjoyed spending his time playing card games, bowling, and handball. Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Lynne St. John of Anchorage, AK, and Maria Fox of Cape May, NJ. Richard is also survived by one grandson, Keith Fox. A private family memorial mass and inurnment will take place at a later date. Inurnment at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery of Kentland. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard's name to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Kentland or Iroquois Memorial Hospice of Watseka, IL.
