Richard W. "Pete" Fowler, 67, of 18 Dennis Lane, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 11, 2016) at his residence. Born Oct. 3, 1949, in Kane, he was a son of the late Richard D. and Grace Barber Fowler. On May 18, 1985, in Duke Center, he married Gloria Cook Fowler, who passed away March 24, 2006. Mr. Fowler was a 1968 graduate of Bradford High School. On May 5, 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, BoStar Medal, Marksman (Mortar) Air Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 DVC, Army Comendation Medal W/"V" DVC 1st OLC, two Overseas Bars, and Marksman (M-14 Rifle) (Hand Grenade) 1st Class. Pete returned to Bradford after his tour of duty and worked for W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co. for more than 40 years. He was a member of VFW Post #212, American Legion Post #108, the Eagles Club and Italian Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his Challenger. He also bowled in the City Bowling League. He unconditionally loved his family and friends. Surviving are four stepdaughters, Tina (Rick) Armsheimer, Michele (Scotty) Fricke, Lynn (Jamie) Quattrochhi and Donna (John) Daugharty; a stepson, Alan (Kelly) Black; one brother, Jim (Marcia) Fowler of Mount Alton; two nephews, Matt J. (Angie) Fowler and Michael L. (Michele Pede) Fowler; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one brother, Robert L. "Bob" Fowler. Family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.
