Chesney, Richard A. Essexville, Michigan Richard A. Chesney was called home by his Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning October 18, 2016 at his daughter's home age 81 years. He was born May 5, 1935 in Bay City to the late Chester and Helen (Gunther) Chesney. Richard married the former Nancy Lou Eldridge on January 10, 1953 and she predeceased him August 21, 1999. He worked at R.W.C as a Journeyman Millwright, Machinist and Pipefitter for many years before retiring in 1990. Richard enjoyed fishing, shopping and watching old western movies. He was very proud to be an active board member of Alcoholics Anonymous. Surviving are two daughters; Ann (Rick) Williams, Denise Thomas & Chuck Shepard, two daughters in-law; Kathy and Sharon Chesney, seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are two aunts, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, many cousins and two dear friends; Gary Rick and Larry Thomas. He was predeceased by three sons; Dennis, Richard Jr., Bruce Chesney, a granddaughter, a brother, James William Chesney, his step mother, Lucille Chesney and five brother's in-law and sister's in-law. Per Richard's request his body has been taken to the University Of Michigan Anatomical School. A Celebration of Richard's life will take place on Saturday October 22, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. from the Ambrose Funeral Home. Friends may call at the Ambrose Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 noon until time of service.
