Richard C. Andersen 1923 - 2017 Richard C. Andersen, 93, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Hospitality Nursing and Rehab. He was born on June 18, 1923, to the late Albert and Helena (DeKok) Andersen in Kenosha. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. He graduated from Kenosha High School. He then attended Oklahoma A&M University for 4 months then he attended Bradley Tech for 6 months. Richard entered the U.S. Army in March of 1943 and served in the Caribbean Defense Command and was honorably discharged in February 1946. On Nov. 2, 1943, he married the love of his life Cornelia "Dolly" Walraven at Christian Reformed Church. Richard worked as a production manager for Lowe's Kenosha Bindery Co. for many years and then at Warren Packaging in Racine. After retiring he drove for Bella Transportation taking people to their appointments for several years. He also worked for Bruch Funeral Home working funerals for almost 30 years. Richard was a member of Christian Reformed Church and was an elder, deacon, vice president of the council, clerk of the council and was the janitor for many years. He also volunteered with Meals on Wheels for 12 years. Richard enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating, and gardening and loved playing baseball and softball in his younger years. He is survived by his loving wife Dolly of 73 years, his daughters Carol Hansen of Kenosha and Barbara (Raymond) Nicla all of Kenosha, his 6 grandchildren, his five great grandchildren and his daughter-in-law Nancy Andersen of Kenosha. He is preceded in death by his sons Dennis and Keith, a daughter in infancy, his two brothers Eugene and Jim and his sister Helen Osinga. Funeral Services for Richard will be held on Thursday, April 20, at 12 p.m. (Noon) at Christian Reformed Church (7506 - 25th Ave.) Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
