In memory of
Raymond Gene Duitsman
March 12 1941-December 1, 2016 In loving memory of Raymond Gene Duitsman, born in Fonda, Iowa on March 12, 1941 to Dorothy Holtorf and Hillis Duitsman. Ray passed away December 1, 2016. Ray was one of fourteen siblings. He is survived by his oldest son, Dean; his wife, Amy; and their three children, Daniel, Abby, and Kyle; his middle son, Todd, his wife Tammi and their three children, Tyler, Hailey, and Kaleb; his youngest son, Karl, his wife Shanti and their children, Christian, Skylar, Karlee, and Finnegan; his former wife, Lorri DeFelice and her husband Joe. Ray owned and operated his construction company DeToKa Construction(named after his sons De(an), To(dd), and Ka(rl). He was a force of nature, 6'2" 225 lb. with squinty blue eyes. He was a kaleidoscope of sweat, muscle, and attitude. Toss in some sawdust as some binder, a pair of leather work boots, a cowboy hat and a custom ordered SuperVan and we were proud to call him our Father. A Father, Husband, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, Navy man, Coach, Hunter, Fisherman, Outdoorsman, Mechanic, Business-owner-Contractor/Carpenter, Owner of Baron - the WonderDog, Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Inventor, Adventurer, the Ultimate playmate to his boys. He was flawed perfection for his boys growing up, a disciplinarian one moment and a free-for-all playmate the next. He could fix your bike, whip up a mean omelet/breakfast and teach you how to fight. That was our father and he is irreplaceable. Nothing made our Dad happier: playing with us, coaching us in basketball, creating something or making a bullet solo run to Eastern Washington with his hunting dog, Baron, his Browning shotgun knowing that he may be snuggling in the hay with his dog for the night. We love you, we miss you a lot, somewhere across the Great Sky there is a Wandering Star. Please join us for a Celebration of Life Open House for Ray on Saturday February 4, 2017 from 1-4 pm at Gold Creek Community Church located at 4326 148th St SE, Mill Creek, WA 98012.
