Raymond R. Breton
Raymond Raoul Breton, 85, of Bridgewater passed away on Oct. 14, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Mary (Wilson) Breton of Bridgewater and was the son of the late Alyre and Alvina (Paradis) Breton. In addition to his wife Mary he is survived by his children, Stephen Breton of Kingston and his companion Janice Julian, James Breton and his wife Julie of Easton, Patty Terrill and her husband Michael of Carver, Raymond Breton Jr. of New Mexico, Robert Breton and his wife Karen of Lawrence, and Jeffrey Breton of Brockton; a brother, Paul Breton and his wife Joan of Florida; his grandchildren, Michael, Janelle, Melanie, Gerard, Ryan, Alec, Brittany, Brandon, and Hailey; his great-grandchildren, Maggie, Asa, Hannah, and Serene. Raymond loved spending most of his time with his children and grandchildren and was a very proud great-grandfather. Raymond was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Local 3 Fireman and Oilers Union for 57 years and worked as a Refrigeration Mechanic and Master Pipe Fitter at Filenes department stores for 30 years prior to his retirement. He was an active member of the High Pond Recreation Association where he played golf, pool, bocce, cards, bowling, and was a great craftsman and wood worker. He was proud of accomplishing a hole-in-one during one of his rounds of golf. Raymond loved cruising and camping with his children in their early years. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the funeral home.
