Randolph E. Suhl Sr.
GREENFIELD - Randolph E. Suhl, 100, died Saturday, January 7, 2016 at the Buckley Health Care Center, 95 Laurel Street, Greenfield, MA, following a period of declining health. He was born July 15, 1916 in Greenfield, the son of Ernest K. and Mary (Sauter) Suhl. He graduated from Greenfield High School in 1934 and had been a resident of Turners Falls for 74 years. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rita (LaPalm) in 2010 and a brother Richard in 1984. He is survived by his son Randy and his wife Anne of Chesterfield, Virginia and his daughter Jane Drury of Milford, Massachusetts: grandsons Shane and Jason, granddaughter Danielle, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. Randolph retired from the Greenfield Tap & Die in 1987 after spending 47 years practicing his trade. He was a former member of the Thomas Memorial Golf and Country Club and served in the Massachusetts State Guard during World War II. A private graveside service will be observed, with inurnment to take place in the St. Annes Cemetery in Turners Falls, MA at the convenience of his family following cremation. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church, c/o of Rev. Stanley Askamit, 90 Seventh Street, Turners Falls, MA 01376.
