Randi M. Canary
Canary, Randi M., "A Southern Belle wafted across the Mason-Dixon Line on the wing of love." Randi Canary, of Eden Prarie, MN, lost her courageous four-year battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on January 5, 2017 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Louisville on October 13, 1946 to George and Laverne Canary, Randi graduated from Loreto High School in Louisville in 1964. She later attended college and obtained an associate's degree in computer programming. She worked for many years as a crisis counselor for Seven Counties Services in Louisville. She was an avid reader and lover of all God's creation. She knew no harsh words for others and prayed for all. She was an active member of the Cathedral of the Assumption in Louisville until she moved with her spouse to Eden Prairie. Once there, she was an active member of Pax Christi Catholic community. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, maternal aunt and many friends. She is survived by her spouse of 27 years, Sara Byerley, Eden Prairie; maternal uncle, Norm Mayer (Mert), Jeffersontown; brother-in-law, Daniel Byerley, New Albany, IN; her most loved dogs, Spencer and Teddy and parrot Harley. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Washburn-McReavy, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie with funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Pax Christi Catholic Community. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the funeral with internment at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Eden Prairie. A celebration of life service will be held in Louisville in the spring with information to be posted at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, Pax Christi Catholic Community or Fairview Hospice.
