Dr. Racine Darwin Brown COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Dr. Racine Darwin Brown, 88, will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel with burial in Chesterfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 p.m. following the service at the funeral home. Dr. Brown died Thursday, October 13, 2016. Born on February 5, 1928 in Chesterfield, S.C., he was a son of the late Donald Brown and Ella Price Brown. Dr. Brown was a graduate of Chesterfield High School. He received his BA from Wake Forest University in North Carolina and received his PhD from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He served Chairman of the National Training Lab Board. He will be remembered for the help he gave to other people, the lives he touched, and for being a deep thinker. He deeply loved his sons, grandkids, reading, and learning new things. Dr. Brown was very dedicated to making improvements to people who were hospitalized and continued support after they were released from the hospital. He traveled throughout the United States working with variety of organizations to assist them in improving their interpersonal working relationships and to reach their mission. He worked with the university specifically for deft students. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Louisa D. Brown; sons, John Brown (Lucy) and Marcus Brown (Heather); grandchildren, Fred Brown, Jack Brown, and Rolton Brown; sister, Laura Lattimore; and brothers, Maurice Brown and Don Brown.
