In memory of
Preston Scott Schrick July 31, 2002 - March 25, 2017 Hearts were fractured when Preston Scott Schrick departed this world to take on the next part of his spiritual journey. He died on March 25, 2017, a result of a car accident near Bishop, California, while on a trip with his family to visit relatives. He was born on July 31, 2002 in Arlington, Texas, to Raquel and Mark Schrick. At the time of his death, Preston was a sophomore at Columbia High School and had attended South Middle and Greenhurst Elementary in Nampa, skipping second grade. Being younger than most of his classmates and smaller in stature did not deter Preston from trying out and being on the team for almost every sport Columbia offered. He participated in football, basketball, wrestling, baseball and rugby. Watching him give his all to each sport was priceless and inspiring to many. He was a hustler and did his best. He earned several nicknames including "Prestontino", "P Dog", "Scrapper" and "Smalls" because he was fearless against the "Bigs". Preston did not let size intimidate him, he took them on and gave them his best. Preston was a bright light to many. His presence brought the love of living life to its fullest in all he endeavored. His being in the room often included joy, laughter, fun, teasing and being teased (sometimes maybe too much teasing according to his brother). He was observant and didn't miss much in what was happening around him. He had social grace, but he also had a special social goofiness that blessed those near him when he was present. Cremation has taken place and a memorial to celebrate his life was held on April 7, 2017. The family thanks all who shared in his life and in his final farewell celebration. He is survived by immediate family, parents, Mark and Raquel Schrick; his brother, Marshall, and his sisters, Savannah and Shania. His grandmother, Jan Vredeveld of Nampa; grandfather, Walter Nathan Schrick of San Diego; aunts, Heidi Youngflesh of Nampa; Judy Garnet of Murietta, CA; Becky Rigas of Germany; and his uncle Michael Schrick of San Diego, CA. His cousins, Anthony, Austin, Conner and Cody Youngflesh; Michael, Jr., Chelsea and Ashley Schrick; Aureliano, Noni and Melinda Rigas; and Aaron, David and Tiffany. He is also survived by his close friend, Joseph Sukhon and second family members Jacob Sukhon, Randy Bollingberg and Nichole Robinson.
