PHYLLIS A. MARQUARDT
EAST DUNDEE - Phyllis A. Marquardt, age 87, passed away on Sunday evening, April 16, 2017 under the care of hospice and surrounded by her family at JourneyCare in Barrington. Phyllis was born on February 9, 1930 in Chicago and was the daughter of the late Frank and Phyllis Siembal. On April 7, 1956 she married Robert L. Marquardt. Bob preceded Phyllis in death on November 24, 1986 after 30 years of marriage. Phyllis was a resident of the Dundee Carpentersville area for almost 60 years and a member of St. Monica Church in Carpentersville. She also served her church as a Lector. Phyllis was also an active member and many time Past President of the Carpentersville VFW #5915 Women's Auxiliary. She also served a few times as 5th District President of the VFW Womens Auxiliary. Phyllis was also a lifelong loyal Chicago Cubs Fan. Survivors include her children: Lisa (Steven) Johansen, Stephen (Norma), Curtis (Dena) and Eugene (Kim) Marquardt. Other survivors include her nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her first husband: Leonard Marquardt, her second husband: Robert Marquardt and her brother: Frank Siembal. Family and Friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Monica Church, Carpentersville. Burial will follow at Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4 -8 P.M. at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee and again on Friday morning at St. Monica Church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Please omit flowers, memorials may be made to the Carpentersville VFW Women's Auxiliary Cancer Aid and Research Fund or Masses would be appreciated.
