Phillip A. Tapia
Phillip "Felipe" A. Tapia, 91, a longtime resident of Las Vegas passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at his home. He was born to his parents, Mauricio Tapia and Adela Allemand Tapia, on March 13, 1925, in La Liendre. He was a Catholic and a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Las Vegas. He proudly served in the United States Army from March 13, 1944, to June 5, 1946. He was an equipment operator for both Sierra Transit and Rocky Road Construction companies. He enjoyed being outdoors and operating his bulldozer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise "Jones" Tapia, sons, Hank Tapia (Linda), Joe Tapia (Darlene) and Ronald Tapia, all of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Matt Tapia (Amanda), Tim Tapia (Kristie), Phillip Henry Tapia (MacKenzie), Krystle Tapia and Tiffany Tapia; seven great-grandchildren: numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Casket bearers will be: Matt Tapia, Tim Tapia, Phillip Henry Tapia, Krystle Tapia, Tiffany Tapia and Josiah Tapia.
