PHILLIP L. HARDEN
PHILLIP L. HARDEN, 81, joined with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, surrounded by his family at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home. Born Jan. 26, 1935, in South Bend, Ind., he graduated from Silver Lake School and Tri-State University. He was united in marriage with Velma (Juday) on Aug. 15, 1954; they were married 62 years. He worked at Bowmar Instrument Corporation for 15 years, founded and ran V H Electronics, Harden Industries and Harden Electric, and ran a large family farming operation before retiring. He was a member of Zanesville United Methodist Church since 1973. He loved his family, fishing, farming, and retreats in Florida. He is survived by his wife, Velma of Roanoke, Ind.; sister, Doris (Milton) Bloom of Warsaw, Ind.; daughter, Sheryl (Rick) Lee of Roanoke, Ind.; sons, Jim (Terri) Harden of Roanoke, Ind. and Ken (Nancy) Harden of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Matt Wymer of Indianapolis, Lisa Wymer of Fort Wayne, Andy Harden of Georgia, Zane Harden of Roanoke, Glenn Harden of Zanesville, and Galen Harden of Virginia; and great-grandchildren, Gabe, Malakhi and Evelyn, both of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Jennie Harden and sister, Jackie Kerlin (all formerly of Silver Lake, Ind.) Funeral service is 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Zanesville United Methodist Church, Zanesville, Ind., with calling from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the church. Burial at Hoverstock Cemetary, Zanesville. Memorials can be made to Zanesville United Methodist Church.
