Philip G. Farisco Mass is Saturday for WWII Army Air Corps veteran Philip G. Farisco, 94, of Toms River, N.J., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Visiting will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral Mass is Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Luke R.C. Church, Toms River. Arrive at the funeral home at 8 a.m. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, N.J. Visit:silvertonmemorial.com Born in Newark, N.J., in a close-knit Italian neighborhood, he developed many lifelong friendships and moved to Bloomfield, N.J., in 1951, before residing in Greeenbriar Woodlands in 1994. After graduating from Central High School, Phil worked at Western Electric where he became a member of the Pioneers, a Bell-System philanthropic organization that reaches out and supports communities with charitable endeavors. Phil enjoyed traveling with family and went on several trips to Europe. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and was stationed at Casper, Wyo., and Alamogordo, N.M. He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Aiello, Teresa Farisco, and Elena (Helen) Farisco. He leaves behind a loving family with whom he was very close: a brother-in-law, a niece and her husband, a nephew and his wife, four grandnieces, and one grandnephew. The family wishes to thank Carolyn and her family for being such good friends to Phil, and for giving him genuine support, compassion, and care.
