Peter R. Karlus, Jr. May 16, 1952 - October 13, 2016 Hanover Peter R. Karlus, Jr., 64, entered into God's eternal care, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at the Hanover Hospital. Born May 16, 1952, in Hanover, he was the son of the late Peter R., Sr. and Grace P. (Stair) Karlus. Peter was the loving husband of Julie C. (Trump) Karlus, with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. Peter was a 1970 graduate of Hanover High School. Over the years, he worked at various restaurants including the Famous Hot Weiner and Hardee's of Hanover and McSherrystown. He worked at Kings Department Store, the York Fair Grounds Backstage Security, the Schaad Detective Agency, Inc. and for the Hanover Public School District as security at sporting events. Peter was a member of St. Jacobs Stone Lutheran Church, Glen Rock, the Hanover Home Association, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1408, the Loyal Order of the Moose #227, the Adams County Fire Police, PA Fire Police Association, a life member of the Penn Township Volunteer Emergency Services, York County Fire Fighters Association, Southeastern Firefighters Association, and a former member of the Parkville and Pennville Fire Police. Peter liked calling bingo numbers at the fire company, was an avid fan of NASCAR racing driver #48 Jimmy Johnson, the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens teams. He enjoyed watching TV and loved his pet Maltese-Poo dog, Mandy. In addition to his loving wife Julie, Peter is survived by his sister, Mary L. Brown of Hanover; a niece, Brenna L. Grove, of New Oxford; his mother-in-law, Kathryn M. Trump of Hanover; a brother-in-law, David Trump and his wife Mary of York; a sister-in-law, Kay Smith and her husband, Jason of New Oxford; a brother-in-law, Wayne Trump and his wife, Allison of Hanover; a brother-in-law, Keith Trump and his wife, Lonna of Spring Grove; a sister-in-law, Angela Kaltreider and her husband, Michael of Hanover; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Karlus; a brother-in-law, Joseph Brown; and his father-in-law, Marlen R. Trump. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate and remember Peter will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Grace United Methodist Church, 55 Albright Drive, Hanover, PA, with the Rev. Paula Murray officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Peter to the Penn Township Volunteer Emergency Services, 204 Clover Lane, Hanover, PA 17331.
