Peter Ferrara passed away peacefully at his home in Anchorage, Alaska, and is now reunited with his beloved pets: Fred, Barney, Rocky and Nino. Known as the "Downtown Dog Ambassador," Peter could be seen walking up to 13 dogs at a time, greeting visitors and locals alike in the downtown area, or along the coastal trail as part of his pet boarding business. A native of St. Louis, Mo., Peter made his home in Alaska in the early 1970s. He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary Ferrara; and is survived by his six siblings, Valerie, Paul, Gloria, Maria, Vicky and Alicia. Peter's siblings are deeply grateful to the Anchorage community, and in particular his many dear friends, neighbors and clients for giving Peter a loving home away from home. Plans are pending for a June celebration of Peter's life.
