Perry Columbus Stapleton, 92, a longtime Vought Aerospace retiree, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to Mount Carmel Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 95, Wolfe City, Texas, 75496. Perry was born in Caddo Mills to Roy Virgil Stapleton and Mamie Eula May Stapleton. He enjoyed a 56-year marriage to Wanda Jo Wofford. Perry built five beautiful homes after retirement, doing the majority of the work himself. He loved the R.V. life, Harleys and college football. His great-granddaughters always made him smile. He had a great life. Perry was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, in 2006 and sister, Marie Shelly. Survivors: Sons, Jeffry Stapleton and wife, Susan, and Gregory Stapleton and wife, Becky; grandchildren, Eric Stapleton and wife, Shea, and their daughters, Rhylee and Tatym, Shelly Cannon and her daughter, Hadley, and Sara Stapleton and daughter, Ava Burkhardt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
