Penny J. Densmore
ANDOVER – Penny J. Densmore, 62, passed away Saturday (Oct. 15, 2016) at home surrounded by family. Penny was born on Sept. 27, 1954, in Wellsville, to Lynn S. and Helen P. (Sortore) Matison. She was a 1972 graduate of Andover Central School. Penny worked as a certified nurse assistant for Highland Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsville from 1986 to the present. She previously worked the family farm, the Helyn Dairy Farm in Andover. Penny is survived by one daughter, Anna Densmore of Andover; one son, James (Carrie) Densmore of Chesapeake, Va.; one sister, Ena Lyon of Brooksville, Fla.; one brother, Tommy Matison of Andover; a sister-in-law, Mary Matison of Andover; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, David Matison. Penny had many interests. She liked to crochet, travel and soak up the sun at the beach. In many ways, she enjoyed the outdoors. She was an avid "all the time" Facebook enthusiast. She always had a smile and was able to laugh, no matter the situation; even when forgetting where she parked the car in Washington D.C. while visiting there with her children. She was unselfish, always thinking of others and she loved her family and friends deeply. There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. In keeping with her "thinking of others", it is Penny's request that you please dress casually. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Calvin Densmore of the First Baptist Church of Andover, officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Brook Cemetery in Andover. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Penny's name may be made to Hope Lodge, 1120 Goodman Street South, Rochester, NY 14620.
