NANDIN (Gomez), Pauline Pauline (Gomez) Nandin, 79, was born on December 16, 1936 in Austin, TX and passed away peacefully surrounded by her dear friend Stella and family members on October 13, 2016 in Austin, TX. Pauline retired from Austin Independent School District at Dawson Elementary and Bedichek Middle School after 25 years of service. She was passionate about her faith and always praising Jehovah for the promise of eternal life in paradise. Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Pablo Gomez, her mother, Julia Hernandez Gomez, her former husband Ben Nandin, her 3 sisters, Anita (Monreal) Cortez, Celia "Sally" (Gomez) Chapa and Natalia "Nellie" (Martinez) Garcia and her 2 brothers, Marcelino Monreal and Pablo Gomez, Jr. and 1 step-granddaughter, Trisha Ann Worley. Pauline is survived by 3 daughters: Virginia (Cantu) Rodriguez, Janie (Cantu) Matos and Pauline (Nandin) O'Connell, 5 sons: Alexander Cantu, Pete Cantu, Anthony Cantu, Ben Nandin and Paul Andrew Nandin, 19 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Through the generosity and compassionate health care team of the St. David's South Austin Hospital's 5th floor nursing staff and Texas Oncology. With special thanks to Dr. Punit Chadha; his kind words gave Pauline the strength and dignity to face her fight. We extend our hearts to Texas Oncology and Leukemia Lymphoma Society for their patience, education, and resources. We also want to thank Hospice Austin's Christopher House for their constant kindness and loving care during our difficult time.
