PAUL AUGUST ZOLBE (Age 80) Died peacefully at his home in Arlington, VA on Saturday, February 4, 2017 after a valiant battle with neuroendrocrine cancer diagnosed in October 2015. Paul was born in Johnstown, PA on October 15, 1936 to Bill and Geraldine (Howell) Zolbe. He was an enthusiastic member of the Boy Scouts, proud of earning the Order of the Red Arrow. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School Class of 1954 and dearly loved attending class reunions during which he would call for a meeting of Boy Scout Troop 38. Paul was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. Upon discharge, Paul became an elementary school teacher and earned his degree at the College of New Jersey. He became a special agent with the FBI in 1965. He earned a Master's Degree in Forensic Science from George Washington University in 1975. Paul retired from the FBI as section chief of Uniform Crime Reporting in 1987. In retirement, Paul was a Hearing Officer for the Public Service Officer's Benefit Program. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Tom, his sister, Eileen Craft and a granddaughter, Leslie Zolbe. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carolyn (Clark) Zolbe; his sons, Paul Zolbe, Jr. (Piedad) and Matthew Clark Zolbe (Kathleen); his daughter, Grace Eileen Doherty and grandchildren, Taylor, Christian, Paul III, Laura and Jessica. Paul's funeral will be held on February 16 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bethany Beach, Delaware at 1 p.m. His body will be interred at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, PA.
