Carlson Corporation where he was a "silver tongued" salesman who was fond of salty language. He had Bachelor's & Master's degrees from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He had a passion for upland bird hunting and fly fishing. He was an avid reader, accomplished cook, storyteller & MC of all events. Paul had a hard edge, quick wit and soft generous heart that made him one of a kind. Beloved husband of 42 years to the late Dorothy. Loving father of Lori (Mark Ritsema) Caldwell-Ritsema & Christopher Nees. Proud grandfather of Keegan & Taylor Ritsema and Carrie & John Caldwell. Dear brother of Dr. Monica Nees, Marcia (late Fred) Lichtenberger, Anelia Nees & Dr. Susan (Michael) Radtke. Family & Friends will gather Thursday, October 20th, for a Memorial Visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass, 11:00 a.m. at Saint Maria Goretti Church, 500 Northgate Drive, Dyer, IN. Family & Friends will gather Friday, October 21st, 11:30 a.m. for committal prayers and military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL.
