CHRISTIANSEN, PH.D., PAUL Ocala - Paul Christiansen, Ph.D. passed on October 4, 2016. Leaving a full 93-year life of service of all kinds, Dr. Paul Christiansen passed away last week quietly in Florida at Sylvia's House, Hospice of Marion County's original Hospice House. Born in Lancaster, New Hampshire, to Mary Lillian and Carl Christiansen, Dr. Christiansen grew up skiing and snow shoeing. Educated at Keene State College, Dr. Christiansen studied education and put that learning to use as both an English teacher and principal at Keene Elementary School. In addition to serving as an educator, Dr. Christiansen was a Mason, served four years in the South Pacific with the Navy during World War II, served as a city selectman, and volunteered with his local fire department. Dr. Christiansen, married to Irene, also of New Hampshire, for over six decades, moved to Florida some thirty years ago. The couple was among the first residents of the Ocala On Top of the World adult retirement community. Dr. Christiansen is survived by his second wife, Judi Roberts; and step-son, Robert Waddington of Ocala. He is further survived by his sister, Justine Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews, Mary Ann O'Neill, Theresa Delfino, Donna Rudelavage, Katherine Mushaw, Kim Austin, Robert Wilson, and Patricia Clark.
