Paul Joseph VanDen Branden
Van Den Branden, Paul Joseph Age 92 of Center Line/South Lyon peacefully went on to eternity on Saturday February 11.2017, after living a very healthy and fulfilling life. Paul was born on June 18, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan and was raised in Center Line, Michigan. Paul met and married his sweetheart Maureen (Barry) in 1947. Paul and Maureen raised seven children together and shared 55 yrs. of marriage. Paul attended University of Detroit and received a degree in Civil Engineering after serving in the U.S. Army as master sergeant in the 188th infantry, headquarters division. Paul was a man of many talents. He obtained his master builders licence and went on to build the 4 homes he raised his family in. Paul served as city manager of the city of Center line for a total of 20 yrs. Paul went on to serve as director of Public Services for the city of Warren for 10 yrs. Following his retirement, Paul worked with his son, Mark in the insurance business. He continued to work till the age of 80 as an engineering consultant for AEW. At the age of 80 he fell in love with Leona Vandewiele and married. Together they brought a total of 12 children together into the new expanded family. Paul was preceded in death by his wife Maureen. He is survived by his wife Leona Van Den Branden, daughter Sheila Grant (Tom), Mary Shutts (Mike), Mark Van Den Branden (Rose), Laureen Semar (Carl), Brigid Trowbridge (John), Deanna Stark (Dave), Tim Van Den Branden (Connie), 16 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his 2 sisters Leona Spencer and Paula Spencer. Visitation at the Ford Funeral Home, 26560 Van Dyke (South of 11 Mile Road or the l-695 expressway), Center Line, Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 2 to 8 pm. Instate St Mary, Our Lady Queen of Families Catholic Church (St. Clement site), 25320 van Dyke (North of 10 Mile Road), Center Line, Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass 10 a.m. with Fr. Lawrence Zurawski presiding. Interment St Clement Cemetery, Center Line.
