Paul H. Baril
BARRE TOWN - Paul H. Baril, 81, of Smith Farm Road, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at his home, with his family at his bedside. Born in Barre on March 30, 1936, he was the son of the late Emile and Marie Louise (Goulet) Baril. Paul attended St. Monica Catholic School in Barre and was a graduate of Spaulding High School. After his schooling, he served his country proudly in the U.S. Army, returning to Barre in 1960. On Oct. 8, 1966, he married Eleanor Habbeb in St. Monica Catholic Church in Barre. The couple made their home in the Barre and Montpelier area. Paul and his brothers started the construction and electrical business, Baril Inc. He also owned and operated apartments in Montpelier. He enjoyed collecting antiques, flying his plane, but most of all, spending precious time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His memberships include St. Monica Catholic Church of Barre and the Barre Elks Lodge #1535 and the Montpelier Gun Club. Survivors include his wife of 50 years of marriage, Eleanor Baril, of Barre Town; two daughters, Billie Jo Baril, of Somerville, Massachusetts, and Tanya Day, of Barre Town; one son, Brad Baril and his wife, Rebekah, of Moretown, Vermont; as well as three special grandchildren, Chandler Day, Christian Day and August Baril. He is also survived by one brother, Maurice Baril and his wife, Judy, of East Barre, Vermont. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers, Andre, Charles, Raymond, Roger and Norman Baril. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place at Hope Cemetery in Barre.
