Patsy Rothwell Dobbs was born on Sept. 13, 1941, and passed away after a long illness Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at her home with her family by her side. She graduated from Red Bank High School in 1959 and was employed by the former Provident Insurance Company for several years. She sang in the Sweet Adelines Chorus. Patsy became a Christian at an early age and while growing up was a member of the White Oak Church of Christ. Due to her husband's employment with an airline company, they had the pleasure of living in several interesting areas, including New Orleans, Phoenix, Arizona and Evert, Washington. After his retirement, they moved back to Chattanooga. Patsy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jena Renee Dobbs (twin daughter to Tara); her parents, Loy and Gladys Rothwell; sister, Willene Dawkins; brothers-in-law, Bob Dawkins, Carl Long and Raymond Sisemore. Survivors include her husband, Thomas F. Dobbs; son, Thomas F. Dobbs III, of Chattanooga; daughter, Tara B. Dobbs, of Arlington, Wash.; grandson, Kevin Blaine Dobbs, of New Orleans, La.; two sisters, Treva Long and Lavada Sisemore and brother, Ronnie Rothwell (Doris), all of Chattanooga. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Minister Steve Lusk officiating.
