Patrick Lee "Pat" Royalty Patrick "Pat" Royalty, 78, of Strafford, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18th with visitation from 10:00-11:00am at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment with Honors will follow the service in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A celebration of Pat's Life will be held after the Funeral and food and drink provided. Pat was born September 20, 1938 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Lucien and Lena Royalty. He grew up in Kansas City and attended Rosedale High School. Pat served our country by enlisting in the Unites States Navy on the 6th Day of February in 1956. He served on board the USS Norfolk DL-1 in the Atlantic Fleet as an Engine Man. Pat's appetite for Racing, music, dancing and dedication to his friends and family was unquestionable and evident every day. Pat lived for Racing and turning wrenches! As a child, he learned to work on cars and became interested in racing stock cars - after his service to our country, he did get to race he was known as Brand X! This love for racing was passed down to his son David and grandson Patrick. When not racing or working on cars, Pat worked at Butternut Bread as a Mechanical Engineer, keeping all of the equipment in working order. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Lena, wife Sharon, brothers William Royalty, Joseph Lepietra, and Anthony Lepietra. He is survived by the mother of his son, Patricia; son David, and Step-children Terry Folk and Gary Hanes; brother Gene Lepietra; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; and many dear relatives and friends that were all part of his family.
