Hickey III, 56, West Walnut Street, died Saturday morning, Oct. 15, 2016, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Mt. Sterling, Ky., on Nov. 5, 1959, he was the son of Patrick E. and Anna Lytle Hickey Jr. A resident of the Oneida area for nearly 30 years, Pat was educated in Kentucky schools. He married Suzan Taylor in Oneida on July 13, 1989. With 30 years of service, Pat was employed as the warehouse manager of H. P. Hood, Inc., in Oneida. An avid golfer, he enjoyed all sports and the great friendships with his co-workers and was of the Christian faith. Surviving besides his wife, Suzan, are his mother, Anna Hickey of Lexington, Ky.; his daughter, Liana Denny of Canastota; his son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Vanessa Hickey of Canastota; his six grandchildren, Hanna, Devin and Julianna Denney and Dakota, Gavin and Alexis Hickey; his three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jodi and Eddie Harris and Jill Hickey, all of Lexington, Ky. and Jennifer and Matthew Welch of Portsmouth, Maine; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Jeff Thomas of Oneida; Sue's nieces, Maria Taylor and Jessica Ward; Sue's cousin, Bonnie Sanborn of Oneida; his beloved dog, Gladys; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Julie Williams, on May 16, 2015. Pat's family wishes to thank, with great gratitude, his co-workers and friends for their concern and support in his time of need. Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main St., Oneida, followed by a brief prayer and remembrance service.
