Patricia M. Lause
Patricia Marie "Patsy"^Lause, nee Nowak, 80, Washington, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in New Haven Care Center. Patsy was born March 17, 1936, in Clover Bottom, the daughter of Joseph Peter Nowak and wife Emily Elizabeth, nee Alfermann. Patsy received her education at St. Ann Catholic School. Patsy was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Lause Aug. 11, 1956, at St. Ann Catholic Church, in Clover Bottom. They made their home in Clover Bottom, and seven children were born to this marriage. In later years, Patsy attended East Central College and the University of Missouri, St. Louis, and earned a bachelor's degree in social work, graduating from UMSL in 1988. Throughout most of her life, she was a homemaker. Patsy was a very active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Clover Bottom. She also was a member of the Western Catholic Union, and the Ladies Sodality. Patsy was a PSR teacher at St. Ann's and started the PSR program at Assumption Catholic Church in New Haven. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and music. Patsy is survived by her husband, Robert Lause, Washington; four daughters, Sherri Schaefer, Sue Ewing and husband Dave, Wanda Czeschin and husband Dave, all of Clover Bottom, and Sally Lause, Washington; three sons, Chris Lause and wife Brenda, Krakow, Eric Lause and wife Rae Jean, Washington, and Jared Lause and wife Anne, Clover Bottom; one sister, Rosalie Bargen and husband Gus, Washington; 17 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Elvira Elbert, Lorraine Elbert and Leona Gratza; three brothers, Oliver, Corky and Edmund Nowak; two grandchildren, Ryan Pewitt and Alex Sherfey; and a third grandchild in infancy. A funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Clover Bottom, with the Rev. Phil Krill officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Masses may be said or memorials given to St. Ann Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Walk Patsy's Prayer Partners. The family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
