Lanigan, Patricia A. Pat, a 17 yr resident of Stamford, died recently at her home at Sunrise Stamford following a 3yr struggle with the effects of a major stroke and more recently Pancreatic cancer. Pat was born July 29, 1943 to the late Edward J and Helen (Casey) Lanigan, was raised in Port Chester, NY and graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School and School of the Holy Child (Rye). She earned a BSN from Salve Regina College (Newport, RI) and a MPH and MHA from Boston University. Pat began her nursing career with the Westchester County Dept of Health as a Public Health Nurse and then joined the Discharge Planning Dept at Grasslands Hospital, Valhalla. In Boston, Pat worked at Boston University Medical Center as a Continuity of Care Coordinator, and at St Elizabeth's Hosp as Night Supervisor in the Emergency Room. She went on to do medical credential verification and medical practice oversight for a private company. In the early 1990's, Pat retired to New Mexico where she purchased and ran 'The Book Source' in two locations. Pat is survived by her: sister, Joann Knorr; a nephew, Michael and his wife Melissa and daughter, Kaela; and 2 nieces Kathleen Knorr and Julie Norman and her husband James and daughters Liesel and Hannah. She was predeceased by her parents; her uncle & aunt Russell J & Joann (Casey) Shaw and her brother-in-law Robert P Knorr and nephew Marc David Knorr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at St Gabriel Church 914 Newfield Ave Stamford, CT. No calling hours will be held.
