IGLEHEART, Patricia Kennedy Ray 8/17/1951 ---- 2/7/2017 Patricia Kennedy Ray Igleheart, 65, of Dunwoody, Georgia, passed away on February 7, 2017 at home. Tricia was born in Jacksonville, Florida to Blacksher Calhoun Ray, Jr. and Margaret Kennedy Ray on August 17, 1951. She attended Western Carolina University and University of North Carolina, Greensboro. She married James Bridwell "Brid" Igleheart, Jr. on February 25, 1978 in Albemarle, North Carolina. She worked as an early childhood teacher for St. Martin's Episcopal School in Atlanta, Georgia for 23 years. She loved being an educator and received the Rotary Teacher of the Year award in 1998. She was passionate about her community, serving as an elder and session member at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, and a board member of the Ark Crisis Prevention Nursery, Evansville Museum Guild, and the Evansville Dance Theatre in Evansville Indiana. Tricia is preceded in death by her parents Black and Betsy Ray and her father-in-love, James Bridwell Igleheart, Sr. Tricia is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brid Igleheart, and sons Ryan Bridwell Igleheart (Carmen) and Austin Smith Igleheart IV (Erin), and sister Jean Ray Jacob (Mike). A graveside service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Igleheart home (8721 Whetstone Road, Evansville, Indiana). A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church in Dunwoody, Georgia on Saturday April 8 at 2 pm. The family requests no flowers. A memorial fund has been established in her honor at St. Martin's Episcopal School, 3110-A Ashford Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA 30319. Tricia's family wishes to extend our most sincere thanks to Dr. Costas Hadjipanayis, Emory Winship Cancer Center, NIH, CaringBridge, and all of the wonderful family, friends, and caregivers who supported Tricia and her family over the last 2 1/2 years.
