Patricia Mae Crabtree, 68, of Lucasville, has left us. She received a call she couldn't refuse. The assignment comes with a large sign-on bonus – a reunion with many family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is 100 percent. She left detailed instructions for her beloved mate and her children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Born Sept. 2, 1948 on Martin Cemetery Road, she was the daughter of the late Harry P. Oppy Sr., and Imogene Throckmorton Oppy. She is survived by her beloved mate, Steve Crabtree, whom she married Nov. 7, 1969 in McDermott; two sons, Todd and Travis Crabtree; a daughter, April Crabtree, all of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Brooke Moore, Jordan Moore, Braden Crabtree, Aidan Waughtel and Jaevian Waughtel; one great-granddaughter, Harmony Moore; six sisters, Dianna Lee of Lucasville, Barbara Overman of Hillsboro, Nancy (Bruce) Bateman of North Carolina, Kitty (Russell) Burchett of Hillsboro, Lora (Ivan) Crabtree of Lucasville and Tonya (Al) Fetzer of Lucasville; very special friends, Sharon Storer, Caryl Skidmore, Barb Spear, Debbie Crabtree, Bonnie Throckmorton and Mortie Throckmorton; and many nieces and nephews. Patty was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Oppy Jr.; and one sister, Karen Sue Glenn. Funeral services will be conducted a noon Tuesday, Oct. 18 at the McCullough Baptist Church with Bob Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the church, and will also be held one hour before the funeral on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
