Patricia A. Colonna
Patricia "Pat" Ann Colonna, 82, of Jeannette, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, with her family by her side. She was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late John and Frances Hleviak Dziedzickie. Patricia was raised in Bovard, which 70 years later, she still referred to as "Crow's Nest." Patricia was a self-employed seamstress. Many guests came to her home, depending and relying on her expert skills to custom fit their clothes. She also worked at the former Sportsman's Bar and Abbie and Bimbo's Pizza Shop in Jeannette, and volunteered at the former Jeannette Hospital Gift Shop, the Herminie Senior Center and the Jeannette Senior Center. Pat belonged to the Bowl-a-Rena Bowling League and the M and S Senior Bocce League. She was one of the founding members of her card club, and remained a member for 60 years. Patricia enjoyed company stopping by the house so that she could feed them. She also enjoyed playing bingo, scrabble, and cards with her card club as well as friends and family, wearing muumuus, bowling, listening and dancing to polka music and the Sons of the Pioneers, eating chocolate, drinking Diet Coke, washing clothes and ironing, crocheting, getting her hair done by Laura each Friday, playing the lottery, watching Jeopardy, attending Army reunions, attending Super Bowls, sending holiday cards filled with money, confetti and balloons, and spending time with her grandchildren. In her travels, Patricia visited 48 states, did a train ride across Canada, and even visited many countries in Europe. In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Edward Colonna, in 2013; her granddaughter, Marissa Rose Colonna, in 2014; her brothers, Kasmir, Amile and Tony Dziedzickie; and sisters, Blanche Tango, Violet Fayetta, and Jennie Emricko, and two other siblings in infancy. She is survived by sisters, Frances Dangelo and Dorothy Kissel; her children, Machaela (Richard) Pietrusza, of Irwin, her Favorite Child John (Barbara) Colonna, of Jeannette; and her youngest daughter, Tamara (Jeff) Yorio, of Marietta, Ga. Machaela was premature weight, John was such a pretty baby, and Tamara was such a good baby. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Celeste, Travis and Lisa Pietrusza, Samuel and Farrah Colonna, and Salvatore and Basil Yorio; and two great-grandchildren, Piper and Atlas Pietrusza. Patricia's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the St. Anne Home for all of their kind and compassionate care. Pat disliked flowers, so please do not send flowers. She said if she could not wear it or eat it, she did not want it! Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 North 2nd St., Jeannette. A blessing service will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601, or a charity of one's choice.
