Patricia Ann "Patty" Malys Rue, 65, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died at 2:14 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016, in her home. She was born December 21, 1950, in North Charleroi, a daughter of the late Edward Malys Sr. and Charlotte Watson Malys. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Rue was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and the former Legion of Mary at St. Sebastian Church. Mrs. Rue was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, George Rue, to whom she would have been married 40 years later this month; two daughters, Georgette McGavitt and Brian Bennett of Belle Vernon and Amanda Rue of Brownstown; son-in-law James McGavitt of Belle Vernon; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Darla Malys of Coal Center; grandson Zander McGavitt; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Rocky. Deceased is a sister, Charlotte Malys. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, where prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 17, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Roger A. Statnick, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for her departed soul at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
