Pasquale "Pat" Margiotta, 87, of Wethersfield, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Born in Pratola Peligna, province of L'Aquila, Italy on February 16, 1930, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Bambina (Ramunno) Margiotta. Pasquale was a barber in Manchester for 45 years and enjoyed his customers. He was also an avid athlete. He skied, snowboarded, swam, played tennis and golf and was a runner. He won the Manchester Road Race for his age division five times; twice in his seventies and three times in his eighties. He also loved to ballroom dance, especially to Latin music. He was a member of the Pratolana M.B. Society and he loved to go to the club on Franklin Avenue in Hartford and have his evening espresso, sitting on the porch and watching life go by. Dominic was his favorite bartender. Pasquale also travelled the world-his favorite trips were to Egypt, Dubai and Rio de Janeiro. He truly lived life to the fullest and had no regrets. More than anything, Pasquale was a great husband, dad and grandfather who loved babysitting for his grandchildren and playing with them. In addition to his wife Marilyn, he will be dearly missed by his son, Mark Margiotta and wife Katie and their children, Lily, Chase and Mason of Rocky Hill; his daughter, Ellen Margiotta of Ashland, MA and two step-daughters, Kelly Badyrka and husband John and their son Hunter of Bristol and Jennifer Wolfe of Cromwell. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (April 19) from 5-7 p.m. at at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Funeral services and burial will be private.
