Parnick Lloyd Stone Chattanooga, TN Parnick Lloyd Stone, 88, went home to be with the Lord and his precious wife, Paula, on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Shannondale Health Care Center in Knoxville. He was a longtime resident of Chattanooga after moving there as a young adult from Etowah, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Owen and Ethel Davis Stone of Etowah. He is a graduate of Etowah High School, class of 1946. Parnick is a Korean War era veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force, primarily at the McDill Strategic Air Command Base in Tampa, FL. After serving in the military and retiring from TVA, he enjoyed serving with his church members in local and extended mission causes. He was a member of the Ridgedale Baptist Church of Chattanooga where he served as a deacon and a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Paula J. Stone. He is survived by one son, Dan (Sylvia) Stone, Louisville, TN; three grandsons, Matthew (Charlotte) Stone, Charlottesville, Virginia, Andrew (Anna-Ruth) Stone, Franklin, TN, and Phillip Stone, Knoxville, TN; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Mae Stone; one sister, Anna Mae Studdard of Delano, TN; three brothers, Kenneth Stone and Roy Stone of Etowah, TN and Ray Stone of Delano, TN; along with several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Loftis of Hollywood, FL; three brothers, M.L. Stone and Hubert Stone of Etowah, and Ruben Stone of Kingston, TN. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday in the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Owens and Rev. Eric Stitts officiating. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery immediately following the celebration service. The Friendship Sunday School Class of Ridgedale Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family would like to express their appreciation for the kindness and care provided by Morningview Assisted Living-Maryville, Manorhouse Assisted Living-Knoxville, Shannondale Healthcare Center-Knoxville and Amedisys Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Ridgedale Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1831 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee 37421. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. till 1:00 p.m., Friday at the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 E. Brainerd Road.
