Olive Kynaston Hodson
Olive Kynaston Hodson 1932 ~ 2016 Olive Kynaston Hodson passed away peacefully on October 11, 2016 from the effects of age. Olive was born September 19, 1932 in Farmington, Utah to Elgin and Beth Kynaston. Olive loved children and loved teaching them in Drama and Preschool. She taught preschool for 34 years and Drama for 44 years. Olive received education from BYU and the U of U. She received her degree in Theater and Speech as well as a teaching certificate. She had the opportunity to teach at the BYU Extension. Olive was selected as Farmington Woman of the year in 2005 for her many contributions to the community. She served faithfully in many callings in the LDS church, as well as her service to the community. Olive met her leading cowboy, J. Richard Hodson, in 1949 at a dance where she stole his heart. They were married on September 27, 1950 in the Salt lake LDS Temple, 2 months before he left to fight in the Korean War. Olive is survived by her husband, her 3 children, KayLynn (Paul) White, Dr. Gregory (Terri) Hodson, and Debera (Joseph) Kennard, 38 Grandchildren and 53 Great Grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers Dean (Cleone) Kynaston, Richard Kynaston, and Udell (Shar) Kynaston. Services will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Rock Church at 272 No. Main Farmington, Utah, preceded by a viewing at 10:30 am, and a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main in Bountiful on Friday, October 14, 2016.
