Olga Casanueva FERNANDEZ
FERNANDEZ, Olga Casanueva 92, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 17, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. A life-long resident of Tampa, she worked as a bookkeeper for the JC Valenti Produce Company until her retirement in 1970 and was an active member of St. John Presbyterian Church for much of her adult life. She selflessly dedicated her time and considerable abilities to the betterment of her family and community, contributing greatly to the establishment of St. John's Judeo-Christian Clinic, McClain Foundation Group Home, Learning Center, and Thrift Store, all of which are still thriving on the church's MacDill Avenue campus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Amancio Casanueva, with whom she raised a family and traveled across the country and world. She is survived by her brother, Larry Cuervo (Merida); daughters, Sylvia San Martin (Ron) and Marguerite Tucker (Tim); grandchildren, Brad San Martin (Amber), Matthew Tucker (Julie), Mike Tucker (Mikaela) and Lara Joseph (Tim); four great-grandchildren; and her loyal dog, Lucy. Her family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the residents and staff of Allegro Hyde Park for their years of care and support. There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Allegro Hyde Park, 800 West Azeele Street, Tampa, FL 33606 on Sunday, February 25, at 2 pm.
