Norman S. Pratt, 75, of Marlton, N.J. and formerly of Cherry Hill, N.J. died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 of complications of diabetes. Beloved husband to Pamela Pratt (Nee Nixon). Dear father of Elizabeth Tavit (Nerses) of Summit, N.J., and David N. Pratt (Evelyn) of Mt. Laurel, N.J. Loving grandfather of Daniel Pratt Tavit, Julia Rose Pratt, Jessica Grace Pratt, Alexander Gene Pratt and Rebecca Louise Tavit. A graduate civil engineer from the University of Delaware, Mr. Pratt spent his career as a licensed professional engineer with Taylor, Wiseman and Taylor in the design of water and wastewater treatment plants and highway bridges. He was a former president of the South Jersey branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church of Cherry Hill, a former member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield and was the author of two self-published books. Funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 8, with interment at Haddonfield Baptist Cemetery, Haddonfield, N.J. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Norman's memory may be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 327 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
